Theme parks in Benalmádena

From the Caribbean to the South Pole, passing through the Amazon, in Selwo Marina, a Benalmádena theme park, you can see a great variety of species from different parts of the world. This park has five different areas:

• Let us go to the South Pole to La Isla de Hielo, which will undoubtedly be the favourite attraction for the kids. Here you can see how a friendly colony of penguins lives in the same conditions as their natural habitat: cold weather, ice, snow and salt water. Rey, Magallanes, Juanito and Macaroni stand out, whom you will meet in the Penguin Encounter.
• The aviary Los Trópicos has many animal species native to the tropics. These species include birds such as the scarlet ibis, the burrowing owl and the brown toucan, and other species such as the white-headed saki primate or reptiles like the green iguana if you are lucky enough to see it since it mimics the colour of nature to hide!
• La Amazonia is the area dedicated especially to this tropical rainforest and has two rooms: the Acuario, where you can see the red piranha or the poisonous arrow frog. And not just because it is an aquarium, you should not trust it; you will also find giant tarantulas! And the Acuaterrario, where you will see reptiles and amphibians in addition to different varieties of fish.
• La Hondonada presents a scenery you will only find in the Brazilian or Venezuelan jungles. In this area, you will meet the toco toucan and the blue-yellow macaw, and surely, you will also encounter some armadillos.
• The Antillas is the Delfinario, a large saltwater pool home to the dolphins. This is where the Dolphin Talk takes place, and you can also experience the Dolphin Encounter. Nearby is the Bahía de los leones marinos de la patagonia, and the Laguna de los flamencos teeming with a friendly colony of red flamingos.

Can you imagine meeting animal species from all over the world? Selwo Aventura is a must-visit! This theme park in Estepona has four incredible areas full of adventures:

• The Pórtico de la naturaleza, has species from all over the world, among cheetahs, gazelles, meerkats, red pandas and flamingos. This territory has a special area for children where they can get in contact with some animals. For the more daring, there are different activities such as zip line sliding, trampolines, archery and the spectacular suspension bridge over the lake.
• The Reserva de los Lagos, the most emblematic area of this park, is where you will truly feel like you are in Africa. It has beautiful species such as impalas and antelopes. And if you pass near the great waterfall, you can admire the most dangerous African herbivore, the hippopotamus.
• Observe the different species of birds in the Cañón de las Aves, whose inhabitants include storks, pheasants and sacred ibis.
• Arrive at the Poblado Central by crossing the great Puente de África to see the king of the African savannah, the lion, live and in full colour. You can also find other species of African wildlife such as elephants, giraffes, hippos and rhinos.

Something you can not miss is the ride on the Teleférico Benalmádena. And while the ride and the splendid views of Malaga should be enough, there is more. While the cable car takes you to Mount Calamorro at almost 800 meters above sea level, you can also ascend to the top of this mountain by walking through incredible trails.

At the top, in addition to having an unparalleled view, you can not miss witnessing an ancient practice passed down from generation to generation, the art of falconry, where you can see the eagles and their babies in their natural habitat and witness the eagle's flight.
