La Hondonada transports visitors to the hidden landscapes of the Brazilian or Venezuelan jungles, where they can be amazed by its colourful exotic birds and the small mammals that inhabit the Amazonian forest floor.
In a setting enveloped by lush vegetation, surprising exotic birds like the Chestnut-eared Aracari are hiding, as well as the ever curious Six-banded Armadillo, a curious South American mammal. Alongside this facility, the special area used for the Exotic Bird Presentation in La Hondonada gives visitors the opportunity to see the magnificent flying skills of a variety of colourful birds, just as they would do in their natural environment, including the Blue and Yellow, Military and Red macaws or the surprising Toco Tucan.
From here, a solid wooden footbridge, built like those used to cross the many rivers in the heart of South America, takes you to other areas of the park: in the upper part you will find The Tropics, a spacious immersion aviary which houses different species that are characteristic of these seriously endangered ecosystems; and in the lower part is the children's playground, a space for the little ones with a slide and swings. While the children have fun feeling like the kings and queens of this space that has been specially designed for them, parents can take a break from their adventure to have a drink or an ice cream from the Cabaña de las Delicias, the restaurant facility next to this area.
